A true story based on the 19th century French poets, Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine. Rimbaud was 17, Verlaine was ten years older. And far beyond their bisexual love is their sick, genius writing breaking its way through acceptance. Sex and poverty and poetry build them the life of passion and violence. Verlaine’s rude immorality and weakness soothes its road with Rimbaud’s nauseous thoughts and insensitive acts. And in a couple of years they managed to live in a world of diverted love, indirect happiness plus zero regrets which caused them scribbling some hell of romantic poems. The movie runs along the time they met, life together, till Verlaine shot Rimbaud and got prisoned, up to the time of Rimbaud’s death.
